The Yuma County Anti-Drug Coalition (YCADC) is proud to announce the launch of its new slogan “Yuma CARES”. As the holiday season approaches, YCADC is dedicated to raising awareness about the potential risks associated with drug and alcohol misuse, while encouraging Yuma County residents to ‘CARE’ this holiday season.
C - Compassion: Compassion is at the core of our mission. It's essential to approach individuals struggling with Substance Use Disorder (SUD), Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), and Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) with understanding and empathy. By showing compassion, we create an environment where people feel safe to seek help and support.
A - Advocacy: Advocacy is the first step in addressing the issue of substance misuse. We aim to raise awareness about the prevalence and consequences of substance misuse in our community. Through educational campaigns, workshops, and outreach efforts, we inform the public about the risks and resources available.
R - Resources: Providing access to resources is crucial in helping those affected by substance misuse. We strive to connect individuals and families with the right resources. Having a robust network of resources ensures that people receive the help they need.
E - Education: Education is a key component in preventing drug and alcohol misuse. We focus on educating children, families, and the community at large about the dangers of substance misuse. This includes sharing information about the effects of drugs and alcohol, the signs of misuse, and strategies for prevention.
S - Support: Support is vital for those on the path to recovery. We believe that everyone deserves access to a better life, and we work tirelessly to make that a reality. Support through our partners provides encouragement and guidance to individuals and families dealing with substance misuse.
